Wreck Dives

Dive into history at Aliwal Shoal with two iconic wrecks. Explore the MV Produce, a massive Norwegian cargo ship resting at 32 m, now teeming with giant Brindle Bass, shimmering schools of fish, and vibrant reef life. Or discover the SS Nebo, a British steamer lost in 1884 at 27 m, where boilers, propellers, and thriving marine species create a captivating underwater scene. Both wrecks promise unforgettable adventures for experienced divers.

Iconic Shark Dives

Descend into the Cathedral, Aliwal Shoal’s most iconic dive site, where towering rock arches and natural light create a breathtaking underwater arena — home to the majestic Ragged-tooth Sharks (Raggies) during their annual winter visit.

Getting out there

Your adventure to Aliwal Shoal begins with an exciting surf launch from the beach in front of the Cutty Sark Hotel, where divers board a 9 m super duck and power through the breaking waves. From there, it’s about a 5 km ride offshore, taking roughly 10–15 minutes, before reaching the reef and its world-class dive sites.
